No matter your choice it's hard.

No matter your choice, it's hard.

Over the past 6 years I have met so many types of mums.

Working mum.

Stay at home mum.

Part time work mum.

Single mum.

Solo mum.

Step mum.

Foster mum.

Postnatal depression mum.

Postnatal anxiety mum.

The list goes on.

Even though each of these women have a different experience & stories, which can overlap, there is a common theme between every single one of them.

It's hard.

Being a mum is hard.

And some days it feels like you just can't win.

You just can't get ahead.

No matter how many times to try to get organised. No matter how many times you think tomorrow will be better. No matter how much support you have.

Some days it's just hard.

Other days it's absolute bliss and you wonder why you thought yesterday was so hard. Then you have another shit day, and you remember how hard it is.

Then in the near future your babies will be grown up, and motherhood becomes hard in a whole new way.

Motherhood is hard no matter your choice.

Let's all take a moment to reflect or contact our mothers (or role models) and thank them for the hardness they endured for us to be where we are today.

And sit in the small blessings that our babies bring us.

When you see another mother today or tomorrow or during the week, remember her days are hard too. While you may think she has a luxury of being the type of mother she is, she may think the same about you.

Let's celebrate all the mothers we are and give yourself a small hug mama.

You're doing a great job.

Shea xx
